The Friends of the Palo Alto Library are looking for a new Treasurer who will join the board in January 2022. It is a one-year position that can be extended annually for up to a total of three years. The responsibilities include providing the Board with financial statements at its monthly meetings as well as some assistance with the monthly sales (held the second weekend of every month). Some financial experience (not necessarily accounting experience) and general computer literacy are required. Our accounting system runs on QuickBooks and reporting is done on Excel. We have an Assistant Treasurer who will be keeping her position and we also have a part-time (paid) bookkeeper.

Before the pandemic, FOPAL had gross annual revenues of over $350,000 and gave grants over $125,000 per annum to the Palo Alto Library system.
